Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, part of Leidos, is hiring a Design Specialist to support electric distribution projects in the Greater Chicago area. You’ll design, draft, and prepare construction-ready packages while coordinating with engineers, field teams, and the utility client.

You’ll travel to field sites up to 20% and help manage permits, documentation, and project deliverables to ensure safe, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

Experience supporting electric distribution design, drafting, or CAD-based design work.
Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, O-Calc or SPIDACalc.
Experience working with GIS or mapping systems.

Responsibilities

Support overhead and underground electric distribution design projects.
Develop layouts, drawings, and construction-ready packages with design tools.
Create and maintain plans, specifications, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
Coordinate and manage permit submittals per local requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, field personnel, and client representatives to ensure project success.
Travel to field sites for data collection and verifications as needed (up to 20%).
Support construction coordination and field issue resolution.
