Job summary

Green Mountain Power is seeking a Distribution Designer to deliver distribution projects from design to construction in Vermont. You will survey facilities, create electrical designs, prepare contracts and easements, and work with construction staff to achieve consensus and timely delivery.

The role requires a working knowledge of electrical utility concepts, strong analytical skills, and the ability to balance customer needs with project constraints.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of electrical utility terminology, technology, concepts, standards and regulations.
• Demonstrate basic analytical and problem solving skills.
• This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent in related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct distribution and line extension projects for overhead and underground facilities with cost and reliability focus.
• Coordinate with developers and customers to plan residential, commercial, and industrial developments using least-cost principles.
• Assemble contract documents, easements, cost estimates and other project paperwork.
