Job summary

BETA Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Development Engineer for the Advanced Systems team to drive cross-functional development workflows for new aircraft concepts.

The role requires coordinating trades, maintaining development artifacts, and retiring technical risks, with onsite work in South Burlington, VT and Raleigh, NC, plus hybrid options. The position emphasizes architecture-level understanding to support design and optimization of future electric aircraft, with a US Person

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of aircraft, aerospace, or complex product-development experience.
  • Experience integrating multiple engineering disciplines on a hardware product.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft configuration, systems, structures, propulsion integration, manufacturing, or test.
  • Experience preparing and presenting trade studies, technical reviews, or decision-support materials.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous technical work into clear actions, decisions, and artifacts.
  • Must be a US Person to be considered for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the integrated workflow for aircraft concept development and technical review.
  • Coordinate aircraft-level trades across configuration, propulsion, systems, structures, manufacturing, operations, and test.
  • Maintain trade packages, decision records, and technical-review materials.
  • Track major assumptions, risks, interfaces, dependencies, and actions.
  • Mature aircraft configurations and installation concepts.
  • Identify cross-functional issues early and coordinate closure with responsible teams.
  • Communicate progress, unresolved issues, trade outcomes, and recommended actions.
