Job summary

BETA Technologies in South Burlington, Vermont is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design from concept to production and certification. You will develop high- and low-voltage power conversion, PCBA layouts, and instrumentation while aligning with safety and EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities include system architecture, board design, and verification testing, plus collaboration with stakeholders to meet goals and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 4 years of experience in a product design and/or production setting.
  • Experience with analog and power component selection, circuit design, simulation, and test.
  • Proficiency with Altium for schematic design, PCBA design and layout.
  • Excellent documentation skills for schematics, bill of materials, test plans, and data.
  • Knowledge of communications protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, MODBUS, TCP/IP, RS-485.
  • DFMEA/FMEA analysis and hardware safety testing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and design according to safety or general standards.
  • Experience bringing your product up to compliance via UL, CE, or others.

Responsibilities

  • Identify project goals, budget, and scope with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop system architectures and distill hardware components into subassemblies, circuits, and board designs.
  • Design new products across cost, reliability, efficiency, and features.
  • Develop from low-level circuit design to full-scale system design and volume manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot and rework electrical equipment and PCBs.
  • Develop test and verification plans for product designs.
