• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist in inventory of classroom materials.
• Provide assistance to students in specialized areas such as the media center, computer lab, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality, strive to improve competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal or supervisor

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Assist in the attainment of District goals by enhancing the effectiveness of the staff member to whom assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Certification

High school graduate and possesses other requirements that will qualify applicant for Texas Education Agency certification.

Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to interpret and follow instructions and work effectively with minimum supervision. Work effectively with others.

EQUIPMENT USED

Wheelchair lifts and ramps, other special needs equipment as needed, typewriter, word- processor, computers, copier machine, and other general office machines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; regular heavy lifting of students; indoor and outdoor as assigned; biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

180 days; salary schedule as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board and are not intended as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
