Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Electives teacher to deliver Rigorous instruction across electives such as Fine Arts, Health, and Technology Applications. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned to state standards and IDEA curricula, while tracking student progress and communicating with families weekly.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Deliver relevant content, grade level curriculum, and core content objectives.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess and track each student’s progress, updating gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Use technology effectively to support instruction and communication.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and sense of community.
• Establish relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly meetings and after-school duties.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning; expect 40+ hours on campus weekly.
