Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year CPT and ICD-10 coding required.
• 3 years working with health insurance companies, verifying benefits.
• 2 years physician billing experience.
• 3 years customer service experience.
• Up to 1 year experience working with physicians.
• 1 year collections preferred.
• 1 year handling cash and making daily deposits preferred.

Responsibilities

• For self-pay patients, collect total payment during pre-admissions minus self-pay discount.
• Advise doctor’s office if patient declines payment ahead or misses schedule.
• Prepare and deliver daily deposits.
• Assist walk-in patients with billing issues.
• Collect patient payment and notify scheduler of financial clearance.
• Contact insurance to determine financial responsibility and create estimate.
• Contact patient within 7 days of procedure to discuss responsibility and financing options.
• Research pricing for elective procedures and related costs.
• Resolve procedure code issues with scheduler before pricing.
• Price procedures and ancillary costs for electives.
• All other duties as assigned.
