Job summary

County of San Benito is seeking an entry-level Elections Department support specialist to handle a variety of warehouse, pick/delivery, and technical support tasks. You may assist with voting center supplies, election equipment testing, and ballot processing, while also providing support to clerical staff in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, basic computer entry, and occasional weekend/evening overtime around peak election periods.

Qualifications

One year of responsible warehouse, receiving, stocker, loader, or support work experience.
Must be able to lift and carry material weighing more than 50 pounds.
Willing to drive for assignments; county vehicles or mileage reimbursement provided.
Some weekend and evening work and overtime may be required during peak election periods.

Responsibilities

Assist in delivery of spare equipment and supplies.
Assist with stacking heavy equipment containers for delivery.
Assist with preparation, distribution, and pickup of supplies for voting centers, outreach events, training classes, and other election events.
Assist with testing functions of electronic voting equipment.
Assist with the processing of voted ballots, including opening/flattening, duplication, sorting, and tabulation.
Assist with sorting and preparing voter registration forms for data entry.
Assist with ballot drop box route pickups.
Assist with scanning materials into tracking system and preparing materials for storage.
Other duties as assigned.
