Job summary

The State of Illinois Board of Elections is seeking an election support professional to assist with certification of ballots and respond to inquiries under the direction of the Election Operations Team Lead. You will help interpret election laws for authorities and the public, and conduct election judge training sessions.

Office location is Springfield, with standard hours Monday through Friday, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of a four-year college with courses in public administration, government or communications.
• A four-year degree may be substituted with one year of professional elections experience.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the state to monitor elections and conduct election judge training seminars.

Responsibilities

• Assist with certification of ballots and handling inquiries.
• Provide interpretations of election laws to election authorities, election judges and the public.
• Conduct election judge training classes for election authorities.
• Assist in preparing and writing agency publications and conduct training sessions.
• Support candidate nomination filing activities as requested.
