Job summary

The County of Kent is seeking a Senior Administrative Specialist to support the Elections Director in Grand Rapids, MI. The role requires handling confidential information and delivering a range of assignments in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with post-secondary training in business administration or related field.
  • Four years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
  • Experience with elections or public administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • handling of confidential information
  • drafting of election training materials and other documents
  • overseeing special projects
  • conducting election training for the public (election inspectors/workers)
  • conducting election audits
  • assisting local clerks and staff with election administration questions
  • management of the Qualified Voter File
  • assisting with external communication
  • assisting with ballot programming and equipment testing
  • assisting with the meetings of the Kent County Election Commission and Board of Canvassers
  • providing support as necessary to leadership of the Department.
