Job summary

Department of Elections, City and County of San Francisco, seeks seasonal clerks to support voter data maintenance and election services. Work will be on-site at City Hall with a 20–40 hour weekly expectation, overtime during peak times, and a start window Oct 19–26, 2026, through Nov 13, 2026.

Compensation is $32.1625 per hour. Applicants should have clerical experience and may substitute with approved training programs or coursework.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience including records handling, filing and mail processing.
• Substitution options include clerical training programs or college coursework.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced election environment with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate and complete voter roll and file updates.
• Perform ongoing voter file maintenance and validation tasks.
• Process affidavits of registration and update voter records.
• Process messages in VoteCal and manage petitions and signatures-in-lieu forms.
• Assist with voter programs and signage, ballots, and equipment setup.
• Serve voters at City Hall Voting Center and conduct signature reviews.
• Provide phone bank support during Election Day operations.
• Support other election-related functions as needed.
