Job summary

Minnesota City Jobs is seeking a temporary Elections Assistant to support early voting at Columbia Heights City Hall. The position involves coordinating voter services and ensuring smooth operation during peak periods from Oct 14 to Nov 18, 2026.

Typical hours are 8:00 am to 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on specific dates. Candidates must meet legal eligibility and English proficiency, and have two years of Microsoft Office and customer service

Qualifications

• Must be a USA citizen and eligible voter in Minnesota.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Must not be the spouse, parent, stepfamily of any election judge or candidate in the precinct.
• Must not be domiciled with any candidate on the ballot at that election.
• Must not be a candidate in the election.
• High school diploma/equivalent.
• Two years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite and providing customer service.

Job description

This is a temporary, 40+ hours/week position assisting with early voting at Columbia Heights City Hall.

Required:

• Must be a USA citizen and an eligible voter in the State of Minnesota.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must not be the spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, or stepsibling of any election judge serving in the same precinct or of any candidate at that election.
• Must not be domiciled with any candidate on the ballot at that election.
• Must not be a candidate at that election.
• High school diploma/equivalent.
• Two years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment and providing customer service.

Anticipated dates of employment: 10/14/2026 - 11/18/2026. Hours are primarily 8:00 am - 4:45 pm, Monday-Friday, but will require evening work on Tuesday, 10/27/2026 and Tuesday, 11/03/2026, and weekend hours on Saturday, 10/24/2026; Saturday, 10/31/2026; and Sunday, 11/01/2026.
