Job summary

ABB seeks a Technical Training Manager to lead training initiatives onsite in Mebane, NC. The role focuses on developing and delivering onboarding and technical training for warehouse staff, with emphasis on improving first-time quality and skill development.

Technical Training Manager

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain training documentation, work instructions, and standardized training materials to support employee learning and skill development
  • Supports warehouse operations during start-ups by training indirect and direct staff.
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously improve onboarding and technical training programs for warehouse employees.
  • Analyze quality trends and implement targeted training to address recurring skill gaps and improve first-time quality.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to expand technical knowledge, instructional skills, and training best practices
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to identify training needs and support operational goals.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs in reference to pick lists
  • Warehouse processes
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis tools (Excel or PowerBI preferred).
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Demonstrated knowledge in receiving, shipping, picking or kitting processes preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required
  • Knowledge and use of tools – tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.
  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs
