Job summary

ABB in Mebane, NC is seeking an assembler to perform a variety of production tasks on the shop floor. You will read and interpret technical diagrams, assemble components, and use light hand tools and machinery as required.

Regular quality testing is part of the role, and work is conducted on-site in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, with safety and ladder-use awareness.

Job description

This position reports to:

Production Supervisor


The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC


Your role and responsibilities:


  • Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.

  • Reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.

  • Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.

  • Will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor

  • Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.

  • Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.


Qualifications for the role:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year working in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Knowledge and use of tools – tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.

  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs

  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
