A local Tribal organization is seeking an Elders' Program Specialist responsible for supporting day-to-day functions and program support at the Tyotkas Elder Center. The role includes planning events, maintaining Elder information, and ensuring respectful treatment of Elders. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a background in advocacy, and relevant certifications. Office experience is essential, along with knowledge of Alaska Native culture. This full-time position is located in Kenai, Alaska.
Qualifications
Three years of program advocacy experience.
Three years of office experience.
Five years of elder advocacy experience.
Current First Aid & CPR Certification or within 90 days of hire.
Valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under Tribal policy.
Current Food Handlers Certificate or within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
Support day-to-day functions and program support.
Plan and oversee Tyotkas sponsored events.
Maintain accurate Elders information lists.
Ensure confidentiality and respect for Elders at all times.
Skills
Good oral and written communication

Ability to handle customer complaints

Willingness to learn Dena'ina culture
Experience with Alaska Native/American Indian people
Education
High School Diploma or GED
