Job summary

Maniilaq Association in Kotzebue, Alaska, is seeking a Relief Driver for Elder Services. Primary duties include transporting elders, delivering meals, and handling mail and supplies, with participation in required trainings and meetings.

Reports to the Elder Services Program Coordinator or Designee. The role requires a valid Alaska driver's license, CPR/First Aid within 6 months, and knowledge of Inupiaq culture and language is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license with a driving record that qualifies you for Maniilaq’s vehicle insurance.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid card within 6 months of hire and must keep current.
• Knowledge of Inupiaq culture and language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a positive, caring, and respectful attitude toward residents at all times.
• Delivers meals to elders that are home bound Monday through Friday except on Maniilaq holidays.
• Transports residents and community elders to their destination in a safe manner.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
• Follows Infection Control techniques.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision at all times.
• Assists with grant reporting and provides data for reports.
• Assists and participates with Emergency Preparedness/Fire Drills.
• Other duties as assigned.
