Job summary

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas seeks a full-time Service Coordinator to support elderly tenants across three senior properties. This role is the single entry point for aging services and related supports, coordinating housing-related services and wellness activities.

You will liaison with families and caregivers, educate residents on benefits and rights, and ensure monthly activity calendars and reporting. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent social services experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or appropriate social services work experience.
• 2-3 years of social service delivery experience.
• Preferably working with elderly or people with disabilities.
• Familiar with local, state and federal entitlement programs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with housing management; liaise with families and caregivers; advocate for residents.
• Identify residents with unmet needs and connect them to services or create new resources.
• Coordinate health, transportation, legal/financial, crisis control and wellness activities.
• Advocate for residents with Wichita Housing Authority, physicians, and families.
• Educate residents on application procedures, rights and obligations.
