Job summary

The Center for Elders’ Independence in Oakland, CA seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral support to participants, families, and staff within the CEI continuum of care. Under the Director of Behavioral Health, you will work with an interdisciplinary team to honor ongoing wishes and cultural and religious diversity.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, or Pastoral Ministry is required.
• 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) are required.
• Board Certification as Chaplain is preferred; ecclesiastical endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual/pastoral support to participants and families across the CEI continuum of care.
• Support Palliative Care and Hospice Programs goals and outcomes.
• Document counseling in the participant's medical record.
• Lead interfaith worship, prayer services, and related group activities.
• Collaborate with IDT to develop and evaluate care plans and spiritual care services.
