Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks an English Language Development (ELD) teacher at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, MD. You will plan and provide ELD instruction for students identified for ELD services, collaborating with administrators, counselors, teachers and staff to support Emergent Multilingual Learners (EML).

The role requires strong knowledge of second language teaching methods, effective communication with families, and Maryland ESOL/ELD certification.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of second language teaching methods.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, counselors and teachers to implement the ELD program.
• Fluency in another language preferred.
• Strong communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide English language development instruction for eligible students.

• Serve as a resource on EML, culture and linguistic differences.
