Esperanza Academy Inc. seeks a full-time English Language Development (ELD) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Philadelphia, PA.

You will empower Multilingual Learners by developing their English proficiency while honoring home languages and cultures. Responsibilities include standards-aligned ELD instruction, differentiating materials, collaborating with content teachers, assessing language growth, and building strong relationships with students and families to support inclusive,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field; transcripts required.
PA Teaching Certification in any content area AND ESL Program Specialist (K-12).
Experience with Multilingual Learners preferred.
Clearances: FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse checks required.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver rigorous ELD lessons aligned to standards.
Provide push-in and pull-out support to MLs in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Foster inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments for MLs.
Assess language proficiency using WIDA ACCESS and other assessments.
Collaborate with content-area teachers to integrate language development.
Implement accommodations and modifications to support MLs.
Build relationships with students and families; communicate with home.
Maintain records of student progress and language development plans.
Participate in professional development on language acquisition and ML best practices.
