Job summary

Yakima Memorial Hospital is hiring part-time childcare staff to assist the lead teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate activities for children.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a State ECE Initial Certificate within 5 years, prior experience with children, CPR/First Aid, and a Washington Food Handler’s card, plus STARS training and TB testing as specified.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• State ECE Initial Certificate required within 5 years of hire.
• Previous experience working with children required.
• Valid photo identification card required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Washington DOH Food Handler’s card required.
• 30-Hour STARS Basic within 6 months of hire or exemption.
• Negative TB Test within 12 months of hire.
• Annual BBP/HIV training required.
• DCYF background check required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists lead teacher in implementing activities that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children.
• Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties as needed.
