Grand Rapids For Christ is seeking an Early Childhood Float to support Lead Teachers at the Olivia Haverkamp Christian Early Learning Center. You will help provide a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to three years, aligning with Christian education principles.

You will collaborate with staff, engage families, and participate in faith-based learning activities, while meeting licensing and development goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred with relevant child-care experience.
• Background check completion in accordance with state requirements.
• MiRegistry Health & Safety 1 & 2 training or willingness to complete.

POSITION TITLE: Early Childhood Float

BUILDING: Olivia Haverkamp Christian Early Learning Center (ELC), Evergreen Campus

CONTRACT: Up to 30 hours/week, year-round (12 months)

REPORTS TO: Program Administrator

COORDINATES WITH: ELC Staff

Position Summary The Early Childhood Float will support Lead Teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for children between the ages of 18 months and three years old. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, welcoming, enriching Christian environment
• Treat all children with care and compassion
• Promote a sense of belonging for all children in a safe, joyful, and engaging community
• Support the implementation of faith-based, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
• Cultivate appropriate relationships with families
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure developmentally appropriate learning activities for students
• Complete a minimum of 16 hours of professional development annually
• Uphold safety standards as outlined in the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Technical Assistance Manual
• Promote GRCS' Early Childhood programs and services

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with relevant experience in working with young children preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain, if offered a position
• Complete and pass the state-required background check
• Complete MiRegistry Health & Safety 1 & 2 training
• Must be able to sit on the floor, stand, and move around for long periods of time
