CONTRACT: Up to 30 hours/week, year-round (12 months)
REPORTS TO: Program Administrator
COORDINATES WITH: ELC Staff
POSITION SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Float will support Lead Teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for children between the ages of 18 months and three years old. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, enriching Christian environment
- Treat all children with care and compassion
- Promote a sense of belonging for all children in a safe, joyful, and engaging community
- Support the implementation of faith-based, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
- Cultivate appropriate relationships with families
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure developmentally appropriate learning activities for students
- Complete a minimum of 16 hours of professional development annually
- Uphold safety standards as outlined in the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Technical Assistance Manual
- Promote GRCS’ Early Childhood programs and services
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED with relevant experience in working with young children preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain, if offered a position
- Complete and pass the state-required background check
- Complete MiRegistry Health & Safety 1 & 2 training
- Must be able to sit on the floor, stand, and move around for long periods of time
