Job summary

AMMEGA is seeking a Junior Chemist to join our Beacon, NY team on-site. You will research and improve rubber formulations, test materials, and ensure regulatory compliance reporting, reporting to the Director of Product Engineering.

You will work with manufacturing and inter-company departments to meet product performance and delivery expectations, supporting REACH, RoHS, and FDA compliance as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering is required, along with

Responsibilities

• Serves as technical point of contact. Provides agile responses to questions.
• Assist with R&D projects
• Design and develop elastomer materials (NR, SBR, CR, NBR, IIR) and adhesive systems for bonding to fabric substrates (nylon, polyester, cotton)
• Utilize lab equipment and test apparatuses to fabricate and evaluate developed materials.
• Perform R&D to evaluate materials and develop Specifications and Process Route Sheets (PRS)
• Evaluate physical and chemical properties of new and alternate materials
• Prepare test reports and Product Data Sheets
• Observe and report on production trials
• Assist in solving manufacturing problems to determine root causes
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
• Liaison with inter-company departments to ensure customer satisfaction in quality, on-time delivery and breadth of product offering
• Works closely with manufacturing and ensuring to ensure customer expectations are met regarding product performance
• Respond to regulatory compliance requests from our customers, including REACH, RoHS, FDA and others.
