Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools in Tennessee seeks a licensed English/Language Arts teacher to support scholars in a college-preparatory environment through standards-based instruction and data-driven planning. You will collaborate with coaches and special educators to meet diverse learner needs.

Design weekly lessons, utilize technology in instruction, and implement intervention plans to boost achievement. Participate in extended-day activities, engage families, and commit to high-quality classroom

Qualifications

• Holds a current TN teaching license in English/Language Arts with appropriate endorsement code.
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value ad data.
• Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly proficient manner.
• Have the ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Have the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher.
• Good communication and written skills required.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly lessons aligned to common core standards and assessments.
• Analyze assessment data and develop intervention plans to meet scholar needs.
• Integrate technology into instruction and activities.
• Motivate scholars toward achievement and engagement.
• Meet with parents regarding performance and conduct.
• Collaborate with special educators in a co-teaching model.
• Engage in planning with school and network teams.
• Attend weekly professional development sessions.
• Create and review student assessments.
• Tutor students and assist with other duties as assigned.
