Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a full-time ESL teacher to support K-12 students across targeted Tennessee communities. The role emphasizes integrating technology, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning to enhance language development and academic achievement.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, assessing data, meeting with families, and collaborating with specialists to develop IEPs.

Qualifications

• Holds a current TN teaching license in ESL with appropriate endorsement code (Required).
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value ad data. (Preferred).
• Possess belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning.
• Ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Instruct students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques to reinforce learning.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and priorities for students and IEPs.
• Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports as required by laws and policies.
• Establish objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Develop plans for communication, monitoring, and follow-up of students in inclusive classrooms.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed for students.
