Summary:
The Multi-Classroom Leader 1 (MCL1) is expected to coach 3-6 teachers and teach students through various models. The MCL1 leads a team of teachers and support staff responsible for multiple classrooms, ensuring high standards of excellence. Responsibilities include establishing roles and goals, organizing instruction to leverage teacher strengths, reviewing student progress, and collaborating on instructional improvements. The MCL1 is accountable for the learning and development of teachers and students on their caseload and team, balancing teaching and coaching duties.
Essential Duties:
Planning And Preparation
- Set high, measurable achievement expectations for all students.
- Create instructional tools and materials for team use.
- Clarify content and teaching methods.
- Align lessons, activities, and assessments; design enriched and personalized instruction; analyze student work for next steps.
Classroom Environment
- Hold students accountable for behavior and engagement.
- Create conducive physical environments.
- Foster a culture of respect, enthusiasm, and rapport.
Instruction
- Hold students to ambitious academic standards.
- Address social, emotional, behavioral, organizational, and time-management needs.
- Use influence techniques to engage students.
- Incorporate questioning, discussion, small-group, and individual instruction.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction.
- Communicate student progress effectively.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain high growth with assigned students.
- Follow observation frameworks and provide feedback.
- Spend at least 50% of instructional time coaching team teachers.
- Seek feedback for professional growth.
- Lead communication with families and collaborate on learning plans.
- Allocate instructional and administrative duties based on strengths and goals.
- Model instructional tasks and clarify team roles.
- Evaluate team members for role development and advancement.
- Provide feedback to the principal on team members.
- Participate in professional development.
Education And Experience
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of relevant subject matter
- At least 4 years of teaching experience with proven high-progress outcomes
- 1-2 years of leadership/coaching experience
- Proficiency in digital learning tools

Licensing / Certification
NC Professional Educators License in the appropriate subject and grade level.
