Qualifications

• Highly Qualified as per DESE requirements.
• Ability to relate to administrators, parents, students and staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in responsibilities and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned students according to schedule.
• Supervises students and paraeducators as assigned.
• Plans a program of study to meet student needs and abilities.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment for learning and engagement.
• Prepares for classes and documents preparation when requested.
• Guides learning toward curriculum standards with clear objectives.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media.
• Implements district and school improvement plans.
• Evaluates student work and provides progress reports as required.
• Seeks district specialists as needed.
• Protects students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintains accurate student records as required by policy and law.
• Assists administration with policies and classroom rules.
• Available to students/parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Communicates classroom plans with paraeducators regularly.
• Follows IEPs, 504 plans and health care plans.
• Engages in professional development to stay current.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in committees.
• Maintains cooperative relationships and open communication.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Principal/Program Manager.
