Job summary

ACCEL Academy in Mobile, Alabama seeks Classroom Teachers for ELA to join a progressive network focused on high expectations and student growth. The role emphasizes collaborative planning, curriculum development, and innovative classroom environments that motivate diverse learners.

You will prepare students for state assessments, coordinate with colleagues, manage the classroom, and report to the Principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching certification in middle and high school ELA, math, science, and special education; or valid license required for the employment content area.
• Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter and/or direct subject-area teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the network-specific standards.
• Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to maximize interdisciplinary teaching opportunities.
• Provide direct and indirect instruction.
• Conduct long and short-term planning addressing individual student needs.
• Prepare students adequately for required assessments.
• Evaluate student progress through frequent formative assessments.
• Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative learning environment.
• Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management.
• Report directly to the Principal.
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff.
• Serve as an advisor to students overseeing academic and behavioral progress.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Principal.

Education
