Job Summary

The 6th Grade ELA/SS Teacher is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a Classroom environment, overseen by School Principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

Primary Function

Ability to provide instruction, assessing and encouraging student progress. Ability to manage the learning environment, complying with state and district level regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
• Integrate the use of technology and multi-media in the classroom
• Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position
• Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner
• Participate in training programs and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning
• Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
• Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies
• Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee
