Job summary

Pinelands Regional Board of Education is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for English Language Arts with an immediate start. The role reports to the School Principal or Designee and requires NJ teaching or substitute certification and 60 college credits.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, enforcing policies, planning alongside the principal, and ensuring daily schedules are followed. Per diem rates are set by the Pinelands Regional Board of Education.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey teaching certificate or substitute teacher's certificate (minimum of 60 college credits)
• Demonstrates familiarity with district philosophy, programs, and policies
• Ability to work with children and communicate effectively
• Possess basic technological skills as required by the position
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and through written expression
• Must complete required health examination(s) and immunization(s)
• Must pass required criminal history background check
• Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident status

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of students
• Uphold and enforce school rules, Board policies, and federal/state laws
• Communicate professionally within the school community
• Reports to the Principal designee at least fifteen (15) minutes before the official school opening
• Review with the Principal and/or designee all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day
• Follows teacher's schedule and lesson plans as assigned
• Assumes responsibility for supervising pupil behavior in class and during other assigned periods
• Demonstrates skill in organizing classroom activities
• Cooperates in a professional manner with all building staff. Writes a report at the end of the day about work completed and leaves it for the regular classroom teacher with a copy to the Principal
• Remains in the building until official school closing for teachers
• Reports to the building Principal designee at the completion of the teaching day
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or his/her designees
