INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT 917 is seeking an English Learner (EL) Teacher for the Secondary Programs and Special Education Programs, with assignment across Dakota County locations. This full‑time role runs 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in education or related field and a current PELSB ESL license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials according to effective teaching strategies and district philosophy.
  • Completes evaluations on students and maintains appropriate files and records.
  • Communicates with parents in a timely manner and maintains positive communication with students, staff, parents and community.
  • Advocates for students with English language needs by representing their needs to parents and staff.
  • Provides indirect services through teacher consultation and evaluation review.
  • Recognizes learning problems and makes referrals as appropriate; encourages student enthusiasm for learning.
  • Works cooperatively with parents and other staff to reinforce the educational program for each student.
  • Attends and participates in various meetings, committees, conferences and workshops as required.
