Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an on-call/part-time Early Career Geologist to join the El Paso, TX SIR team. This role is field-forward and ideal for a geoscience professional who will thrive in a field-based work environment and build a career supporting environmental investigation and remediation projects.

Field-focused experience such as field camp, internships, or field-based coursework is highly preferred. You will perform soil, groundwater, sediment sampling, monitoring well oversight, and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a closely related field is required.
• Strong interest in field-based environmental consulting work.
• Ability to perform physically demanding field tasks and outdoor work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• MS degree in Geology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support environmental fieldwork including soil, groundwater, sediment, and soil vapor sampling.
• Oversee monitoring well installation and development.
• Assist with aquifer testing and logging of soils and rocks.
• Maintain accurate field documentation, logs, and chain-of-custody forms.
• Compile and manage field and laboratory data per WSP standards.
• Assist in preparing site investigation reports, figures, tables, and maps.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and project managers to meet quality and schedule objectives.
• Assist with field preparation activities including equipment setup, calibration, and logistics planning.
