Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support our English Learner (EL) students at JPS Hunt Elementary. This part-time position involves working closely with teachers and students to enhance the educational experience for learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting language acquisition and cultural understanding in a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional strategies tailored for English Learner students.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to help them improve their English language skills.
• Facilitate communication between students and teachers, ensuring that language barriers are minimized.
• Support the development of culturally responsive lesson plans and materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in education, linguistics, or a related field is preferred. Be able to pass the parapro exam or 60 college credits
