Job summary

Messiah Lifeways is seeking PRN Med Techs for the Enhanced Living (Personal Care) team at Messiah Home, Mechanicsburg, PA. The role involves medication administration, personal care support, and helping residents maintain independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of Department of Human Services Medication Administration Course.
• Ability to provide documentation for Med Tech certification, including required forms.
• Preferred: 1 year of Nursing Assistant or PCA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medication administration and treatments per DHS Personal Care Home regulations.
• Support residents to remain as independent as possible and assist with personal hygiene.
• Transfer residents as needed and assist with treatments and therapies.
• Serve as a role model for Nursing Assistants and ensure residents take medications.

What You’ll Do

The Enhanced Living Med Tech/Nursing Assistant is charged with providing essential support to the Enhanced Living residents and will assist with medication administration and treatments in accordance with the Department of Human Services Personal Care Home regulations. Ideal candidates must be willing to work rotating weekends and holidays. As a Nursing Assistant/Med Tech, you will encourage and support residents to be as independent as possible, assist residents with personal hygiene, transfer residents as needed in addition to assisting with treatments and therapies, ensuring residents take their medications and serve as a role model for all Nursing Assistants.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• 18 years of age or older
• Successful completion of certification from the Department of Human Services Medication Administration Course
• Ability to provide appropriate documentation for Med Tech certification to include the following:
  • Summary and qualification form
  • Review of non-oral medication documentation
  • Observation documentation (at least 6 months worth if coming from another community)
• Preferred: 1 year of Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) experience
