Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ESL Elementary Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades K-5, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback to support individual growth.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage students and enhance their understanding of core subjects.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and administration to develop and improve curriculum and teaching practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities through regular updates and conferences.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution strategies.
- Contribute to the school community by participating in extracurricular activities, meetings, and special events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification for ESL endorsement (NS)
- Proven experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and engage students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
