Qualifications

  • Certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) is highly desirable.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are also desirable.
  • Grandfathering provisions may apply for VA employees under the qualification standard.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to MIT staff and supervise subordinate technicians.
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the work of the Telemetry and ECG unit.
  • Interview candidates for positions and recommend selections, promotions, or discipline as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to department, hospital, agency, and national regulations and policies.
  • Maintain clinical expertise in telemetry monitoring and ECG procedures.
