Job Summary And Qualifications

An EKG Tech at HCA Healthcare performs electrocardiograms, monitors heart rhythms, and handles related clerical tasks within hospital settings.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Electrocardiogram (EKG) Testing: Administering standard EKGs, Holter monitor hook-ups, and signal average EKGs.
• Rhythm Interpretation: Analyzing cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias and reporting critical changes to nursing or medical staff.
• Department Operations: Managing computer processing of test data, filing records, and handling internal communications.

General Qualifications

• Education: Requires completion of a Basic EKG Course and a min 1 year exp
• Certifications: Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (often within 30 days of hire)
• Skills: Working knowledge of medical terminology and demonstrated ability to read cardiac tracings.
