Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking an EKG Technician PRN to perform standard EKG, EEG, Holter monitoring, and stress testing, while maintaining patient records and delivering direct patient care. The role supports a cardiovascular services team focused on high-quality care across all ages.

Responsibilities include interpreting rhythms, reporting changes, managing telemetry equipment, and mentoring new staff, with adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of hospital experience preferred.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
• Successful completion of 16 hour EKG course within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Our cardiovascular services team is composed of caring individuals committed to providing the highest quality care. Join us as we add an EKG Technician to the team. Our EKG (or Stress Test) Tech will perform standard EKG, EEG, Holter Monitor, stress testing and non-invasive vascular procedures. You will maintain department and patient records and provide direct patient care to patients of all ages.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Interprets Rhythms and Arrhythmias.

• Reports all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.

• Maintains Telemetry supplies and equipment.

• Records patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.

• Performs duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.

• Orients and mentors new staff members.

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

• High school or GED

• Successful completion of 16 hour EKG course within 90 days of employment

• 1 year of experience required, hospital setting preferred

• BLS (American Heart Association)

• Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds
