Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking an EKG Technician for PRN shifts to support our cardiovascular services team. You will perform standard EKG, ECG, Holter monitoring, stress testing and related non-invasive procedures while maintaining patient records and delivering direct patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Complete a 16-hour EKG course within 90 days of employment.
• 1 year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Reports changes in heart rate/rhythm to nursing staff.
• Maintains Telemetry supplies and equipment.
• Records patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Performs duties with age-specific factors.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows Standard Precautions using PPE.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Our cardiovascular services team is composed of caring individuals committed to providing the highest quality care. Join us as we add an EKG Technician to the team. Our EKG (or Stress Test) Tech will perform standard EKG, EEG, Holter Monitor, stress testing and non-invasive vascular procedures. You will maintain department and patient records and provide direct patient care to patients of all ages.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Interprets Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Reports all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• Maintains Telemetry supplies and equipment.
• Records patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Performs duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

• High school or GED
• Successful completion of 16 hour EKG course within 90 days of employment
• 1 year of experience required, hospital setting preferred
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds
