Job summary

Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital is seeking a part-time EKG technician to perform electrocardiograms across multiple settings, maintain equipment, and handle related clerical tasks. The role includes ensuring inventory sufficiency and processing EPIC test orders to ensure proper charges.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, completed EKG training, and preferably six months of EKG experience. BLS certification is required by either AHA or ARC, as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an EKG training program is required.
• Six months of EKG technician experience is preferred.
• CRT-BLS by either AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrocardiograms in outpatient, ED, and in-house locations.
• Maintain EKG equipment and ensure inventory sufficiency.
• Perform clerical duties including computer entry, filing, recording, and mailing.
• Complete all test orders in EPIC to ensure proper charges are processed.

About Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital

In response to the health care needs of a growing community, in 1977, Corewell opened a new 189-bed hospital on rural farmland in Troy. Today, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has grown to 530 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.

Scope of Work

Performs Electrocardiograms in a variety of settings, which could include outpatient, the Emergency Department, and all in-house locations. Maintains equipment. Will maintain sufficient inventory to efficiently operate the EKG services. Performs clerical duties such as computer entry, filing, recording, and mailing and reports as needed. Complete all test orders in EPIC to ensure appropriate charges are processed.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent


• Required Completion of EKG training, either an exclusive EKG training program or as part of other educational programs.


• Prior work experience that included performing EKGs may be considered as fulfillment of this requirement. Six months of experience as an EKG technician. Preferred


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required Or


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross required
