The EIS Apprenticeship is designed tobuildtechnical skills in the electrical and instrumentation disciplineand gainexperience in field operations. As part of the program, apprentices will work with a range of equipment and systems such as overhead power lines, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), transmitters, and communication systems and more, providing valuable exposure to real-world applications in the industry.
Through a combination of structured training and immersive on-the-job learning, Apprentices are introduced to the complexity and criticality of work management, maintenance execution, and equipment servicing/repair.Theposition provides direct exposure to the Chevron Way Values and the strong safety culture that defines the Shale & Tight Business.
Apprenticeswillwork closely with adedicated mentor, complete two assignments across different operational areas to develop a broad understanding of how teamsand functions work together to safely deliver production and minimizedowntime andwill alsoparticipatein computer-based and classroom training.
This is a temporary 6‑monthfield-basedposition.
High SchoolDiplomaor equivalent
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Ability and willingness to work day and night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned work schedule.
Live within 50 miles of the work location or willingness to relocate within 50 miles of the work location for the duration of the apprenticeship
This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven record in Safety and Reliability
Applicants must meet at least one of the following: complete an Applied Associates of Science degree (such asInstrumentation andControl(PLC), Computer Information Systems, Automation, Electrical, Electronicsor related field) OR have equivalent education or military training OR finish a certificate program degree (such as Instrumentation and Control (PLC), Computer Information Systems, Automation, Electrical, Electronics or related field)with previous oil & gas or similar industry experience. Additionally , a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes is required, and transcripts must be uploaded to the applicant’s online profile
Previousexperience with reliability, safety and/or environmental process related issues.
Previousexperience with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation
Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
As part of the application process, you will be required to take an assessment that measures aptitude and work styles. We recommend you allow approximately 45 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting. If you need to exit, your progress will be saved.
You will be immediately directed to the testing portal upon submitting your application, at which point you will have 72 hours to complete the online assessment.
Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for 180 days.
Should you reapply for another Job Requisition within this timeframe that includes the Maintenance Assessment, you will be required to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link. This will resubmit your previous results.
Candidates will need to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
