Job summary

Chevron's Shale & Tight Business Unit is seeking a Field Specialist Apprentice for a temporary 6-month field-based program, located in multiple locations in the United States. Apprentices work under a mentor, gaining hands-on experience with production facilities, wells, VRUs and related equipment while completing classroom and computer-based training to build core field operations skills.

Chevron’sShale & TightBusiness is accepting online applications for the position of Field Specialist Apprentice located inmultiplelocations ,through September 18th** ,2026,**at 11:59 PM (CentralStandard Time).

TheField SpecialistApprenticeship is designed tobuildtechnical skills in theproductionoperations disciplineand gainhands-on experience in field operations. As part of the program, apprentices will work with a range of equipment and systems such asproductionfacilities, production wells, water disposal and compressors, artificial lift systems (gas lift, ESP, rod pump and plunger), VRUs, pumpsand more, providing valuable exposure to real-world applications in the industry.

Through a combination of structured training and immersive on-the-job learning, Apprentices are introduced tooperating, troubleshooting,repairingandmaintainingoil and gas productionin partnership with Field Operations,Integrated Operations Center, and Maintenance and Reliability teammembers. The position provides direct exposure to the Chevron Way Values and the strong safety culture that defines the Shale & Tight Business Unit.

Apprenticeswillwork closely with adedicated mentor, complete two assignments across different operational areas to develop a broad understanding of how teamsand functions work together to safely deliver production and minimizedowntime andwill alsoparticipatein computer-based and classroom training.

This is a temporary 6‑monthfield-basedposition.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diplomaor equivalent
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Ability and willingness towork dayand night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned work schedule.
  • Live within 50 miles of the work location or willingness torelocatewithin 50 miles of the work location for the duration of the apprenticeship
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position.Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven record in Safety and Reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet at least one of the following: complete an Applied Associates of Science degree (such as Lease Operator, Petroleum Process Technology, Natural Gas Compression, or related field) OR have equivalent education or military training OR finish a certificate program(such as Lease Operator, Petroleum Process Technology, Natural Gas Compression, or related field)with previous oil & gas or similar industry experience. Additionally , a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes isrequired, and transcripts must be uploaded to the applicant’s online profile
  • Previousexperience with reliability,safetyand/or environmental process related issues.
  • Previousexperiencewith pneumatic/electronic instrumentation
  • Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, andinternal and external customers.
