Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Adapt, accommodate, and modify the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students.
• Align and adapt the student’s program with the general education curriculum.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and plans with the team.
• Prepare and implement behavior plans based on functional behavioral assessments.
• Use curriculum guides to identify functional goals.
• Employ current assessment instruments and approaches linked to planning.
• Utilize appropriate technology tools.
• Implement trauma-informed/resiliency based strategies and interventions.
• Maintain compliance with special education timelines and paperwork.
• Communicate with school and community members as appropriate.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and follow administrators’ directions.
• Provide classroom instruction and serve as instructional leader for Special Education students.

• Use appropriate technology tools
• Implement trauma-informed/resiliency based strategies & interventions
• Maintain compliance with special education timelines and required paperwork and documentation
• Communicate to all members of the school & community as appropriate
• Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
• Maintain a philosophy in accordance with Lincoln Park Public Schools
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Follow directions of administrators
• Provide classroom instruction and serve as the instructional leader for meeting the needs of Special Education students
