Thrive Freeze Dry in Oak Creek, WI is seeking an Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) Supervisor to lead safety, environmental and security initiatives across the site. This hands-on role ensures compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and SQF standards while integrating EHSS into daily production activities.

You will partner with operations and support functions, coach managers on EHSS leadership, supervise the Safety Committee and drive a proactive safety culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in EHSS related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Professional safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, OSHM) preferred.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour certification, preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHSS experience in manufacturing, with leadership of programs and measurable improvements.
  • Experience communicating with regulatory agencies and third‑party auditors.
  • Ability to train, coach and influence employees in classroom and production floors.
  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risks and implement safety solutions.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills to promote a safety‑first mindset.
  • Ability to communicate safety concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHSS programs in a production environment.
  • Ensure facility compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Partner with staff to lead EHSS efforts and integrate EHSS into daily activities and decisions.
  • Promote proactive safety culture through coaching, floor engagement, and best practices.
  • Develop, deliver and coordinate required EHSS training with Learning and Development.
  • Coach managers on EHSS leadership, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Oversee an effective Safety Committee.
  • Mitigate risks through inspections, audits, hazard identification and corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure proper analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate post‑accident care and workers’ compensation case management.
  • Support HR with ADA/ return‑to‑work management.
  • Oversee site security operations to ensure physical security measures are effective.
  • Maintain and analyze EHSS data to identify trends and hazards.
  • Maintain records per company and regulatory requirements; comply with SQF and Product Safety standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time / Salary

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) Supervisor to support our workplace safety programs and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. The EHSS Supervisor is responsible for leading, implementing and continuously improving corporate environmental, health, safety and security initiatives at the site-level to support safe, reliable and compliant food manufacturing operations. This role collaborates with all levels of staff to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and site procedures. You will integrate the EHSS principles into daily production activities, partner closely with operations and support functions, and drive a proactive safety culture.

This is a hands‑on role perfect for someone passionate about improving a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHSS programs, policies and procedures in a production environment
  • Ensure facility compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations, and company standards
  • Partner with all levels of staff to lead and support EHSS efforts and integrate EHSS principles into daily activities and decision‑making
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, daily floor engagement, reinforcement of safe behaviors and best practices, and recommendations for improvements
  • Work with our Learning and Development team to develop, deliver and/ or coordinate required EHSS training
  • Coach managers and supervisors on EHSS leadership principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices
  • Oversee an effective Safety Committee
  • Mitigate and/ or prevent organizational risks through inspections, audits, hazard identification and corrective actions
  • Lead and support all incident investigations through the use of EHSS systems to ensure proper analysis, corrective actions, documentation, and reporting
  • Coordinate post‑accident care and communication to assure effective workers’ compensation case management
  • Support Human Resources with ADA/ return‑to‑work management
  • Oversee site security operations, through the use of technology and/ or human resources, to ensure physical security measures are effective and properly maintained
  • Maintain and analyze EHSS data to identify trends and hazard identification
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation per company and regulatory requirements
  • Comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements and Products Safety and Defense standards
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an EHSS related field, preferred, or equivalent experience and training
