Job summary

W. M. Keck Observatory is seeking a High School Student Assistant to join the Environmental Health and Safety team in Waimea, Hawaii. You will help enhance safety programs by creating engaging multimedia content and updating training materials, using movie editing software to produce visuals that support risk management and training initiatives.

The role requires basic editing and content creation experience, with on-site work at the W. M. Keck Headquarters.

Qualifications

• High School student in good standing.
• Experience with filming, editing videos, and creating visual content.
• Ability to read and understand policies, directives, and instructions in English.
• Proficiency in Final Cut movie editing software, Adobe Photoshop Suite and/or other multimedia software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity applications.

Responsibilities

• The High School Student Assistant supports the Environmental Health and Safety team by creating graphical representations for risk management and updating training materials.
• They will produce visually engaging multimedia safety content and help revamp training classes with interactive media and modern instructional techniques using movie editing software.
