Job summary

Vertiv Pelzer facility is seeking an EHS professional to plan, implement, and manage local EHS programs, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety.

You will drive risk reduction, oversee training, records, and incident logs, and work with leadership to deploy best practices and metrics. Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required to support audits and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years in manufacturing, construction, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
• Experience implementing EHS programs and risk reduction.
• Strong communication with all levels of management and staff.
• Proficient with MS Office and data systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and promote safety as a Vertiv core value and drive a positive safety culture.
• Identify and prioritize EHS initiatives in support of business needs.
• Coordinate with Learning and Development to evaluate, develop, and assist in required EHS training for employees.
• Maintain site safety records, such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Hazard Analyses (JSA), and Ergonomic Assessments.
• Maintain incident and injury records and logs as required by OSHA and Vertiv
• Some travel may be required for training and cross-facility inspections and audits
• Perform safety/environmental/housekeeping facility walkthroughs regularly.
• Maintain data collection and reporting systems for EHS metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate EHS metrics and best practices with the Vertiv Operating System (VOS).
• Ensure new equipment, machines, workstations, and assembly lines are implemented following all applicable safety and environmental regulatory requirements and Vertiv best practices.
• Advise the EHS leader on facility risks, incidents, actions, programs, and policies.
• Measure and monitor environmental impacts in conformance with Vertiv's environmental policy and government regulations.
• Establish, monitor, enforce, and improve EHS systems, programs, policies, and procedures to reduce or eliminate risk with the goal of zero injuries.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Maintain and assist with the employee safety committee, safety suggestion program, and safety promotional activities.
• Assist in incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support the Emergency and Crisis Management Response Program and local Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT)
• Conduct audits with facility contractors that come on-site and ensure guidelines are understood.
• Normal work week is day shift Monday-Friday, but some after-hours and weekend work may be required for off-shift training, emergencies, or other special situations.

POSITION SUMMARY

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong familiarity with construction activities including rigging and loading.
