Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an EHS Technician I in Houston, TX, to support safety and environmental programs. Base pay starts at $21 per hour. The role involves assisting with regulatory compliance, inspections, training, data reporting, and PPE control, under guidance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and OSHA basics; OSHA 10/30 preferred. The position requires 0–2 years in manufacturing or related environments and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Compliance with OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices.
• Ability to use computers, including MS Office suite, ERP for procurement and other EHS specific software.
• Ability to identify hazards and recognize unsafe conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Support routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe conditions.
• Support and sustain collection and reporting of data to plant and organization stakeholders.
• Assist with incident investigations, including documenting findings and identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training programs, including new hire orientation and recurring safety topics.
• Maintain safety records, track basic safety metrics, and assist with report preparation.
• Assist with waste management, SPCC, recycling programs, and environmental compliance activities.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness initiatives.
• Procurement and maintenance support for safety related equipment: control of PPE stock and replenishment requisitions.
