This role is mainly dedicated to project work: scoping, planning, and delivering initiatives tied to business growth, regulatory change, and program development. You will partner closely with engineering, Workplace Solutions, Global and site EHS, legal, and site leadership.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership
  • Lead complex, cross-functional EHS and environmental projects from scoping through delivery, including schedule, resources, budget, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Develop long-range environmental and EHS strategies and roadmaps that support business growth and scale across sites and regions.
  • Translate business strategy and regulatory change into structured, resourced projects with clear milestones and measures of success.
  • Initiate innovative program and solution designs where existing standards do not fit.
  • Lead hazard and risk assessments for new and emerging processes, materials, equipment, and facilities, and embed EHS in design and change management.
  • Manage EHS vendors, consultants, and specialty contractors, setting technical requirements and holding them to performance.
Environmental Regulatory Compliance (US and California)
  • Own the compliance approach for U.S. federal, state, and local environmental requirements, with emphasis on California.
  • Cover air emissions and permitting, wastewater and stormwater, hazardous waste and hazardous materials management, chemical inventory and reporting, and spill prevention and emergency planning.
  • Manage engagement with regulators, including California agencies and local authorities, for permits, inspections, notifications, and reporting.
  • Track and interpret California-specific requirements, including product and chemical regulations and emerging climate and producer-responsibility laws, and communicate business impacts and decisions needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical field. Postgraduate degree strongly preferred.
  • 10 to 12+ years of progressive EHS experience with a significant environmental compliance focus, including leading technical programs across multiple sites or countries.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects, with challenging regulatory conditions, strong planning, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of U.S. federal and state environmental regulation, including California requirements, and demonstrated experience working directly with regulators.
  • Experience with environmental regulation outside the U.S. (Europe and/or Asia-Pacific preferred).
  • Experience in semi-conductor technology, engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or advanced-materials environments.
  • Professional certification or license (for example REM, CIH, CSP, QEP, PE, CHMM or equivalent).
  • Experience advising senior and executive leaders and influencing without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required, including internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management certification (for example PMP) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience with chemical management and emerging-substance regulation (for example PFAS) and with product environmental compliance.
  • Experience with extended producer responsibility, climate disclosure, or sustainability reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
