Job summary

Tri-county Community Action Agency in New Jersey seeks a dedicated lead teacher to supervise and coordinate a Head Start classroom, ensuring alignment with Head Start performance standards and state licensing.

You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, prepare weekly lesson plans, track each child’s growth, involve parents, conduct conferences, and assist with administrative tasks. This role requires an Infant-Toddler CDA or enrollment in the CDA program, and an AA/BA are a plus.

Qualifications

• Infant-Toddler CDA to meet Head Start licensing requirements.
• Enrollment in Infant-Toddler CDA program if not yet completed.
• NJ/PA licensing standards knowledge and compliance.
• Valid driver/car available for daily use.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate an assigned Head Start classroom.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
• Submit weekly curriculum-based lesson plans to supervisors.
• Maintain records and monitor each child’s growth and development.
• Ensure services for children with special needs are provided.
• Maintain safety protocols and report accidents or concerns.
• Engage parents through monthly planning, visits, and conferences.
